Farmlands. 50 years young.

Late last year our client Farmlands turned the big ‘five zero’. It all started in 1962 with a small group of entrepreneurial farmers meeting over a cup of tea in the Eskdale Hall in rural Hawke’s Bay. They had the idea of forming a farmer-owned cooperative to get better prices on the supplies they needed for their farms and orchards. It was a revolutionary idea and one that, half a century later, has seen Farmlands become one of New Zealand’s leading agricultural companies and rural suppliers.

Farmlands went all out to celebrate this amazing milestone with their Shareholders including a BIG 50 Scan & Win promo (where everyone was a winner!), local branch parties, sending commemorative tea towels to all Shareholders and even publishing a book on the cooperative’s 50 years of history.

The 50th birthday shin digs went off and the BIG 50 promo was a hit! It was great to see the Shareholders really getting behind the birthday, taking home great deals and winning heaps of prizes. One Shareholder even got creative and made a girl’s dress out of the commemorative tea towel! Click here to see a photo.

Congratulations Farmlands! Here’s to the next 50.
